An important reminder from MassHealth:
MassHealth will be making updates to the LTSS Provider Portal related to PA submissions for home health aide services when provided by family caregivers.
Effective March 31, 2022, home health agencies will be asked if home health aide services will be or plan to be provided by a family member. If the member will be receiving home health aide services provided by a family member, the home health agency must answer yes and attest that the family member will have successfully completed a home health aide training and competency evaluation program as described in 42 CFR 484.00 prior to service delivery. Please note, this will be a mandatory field when requesting home health aide prior authorization.
