OIG has published an interactive map that displays details on nursing home complaint trends in 2018. 6,540 high-priority grievances that were not investigated within the required 10-day period, which equals a 23% increase. Although the number of high-priority complaints increased, the number of immediate jeopardy complaints decreased for 2018.

Additionally, it will provide insights on states’ nursing home complaint and investigation trends between 2016 and 2018. It is possible that OIG will recommend new regulations and enforcement actions for nursing homes, who are already reeling from PDPM.
